Planned Giving in the Time of Coronoavirus – Sharing Ideas from Your Peers - Shared screen with speaker view
Hello, all! Are you still mass-marketing for planned giving in the time of coronavirus?
I hope to be able to stay on with you all. I'm a former Planned Giving Officer looking to re-enter the development field.
I know we are just getting started, however it's hard to hear you David. Please speak up- thank you.
I see you both
Viken we can see you!
I can see you Viken

I heard that the RMD for IRAs is being waived for 2020. Is that right?
David, can you please speak a little louder?...
Very hard to hear you guys...
I have to step away for another meeting. Would it be possible to get a link to the recording afterward? Thank you!
Peter...you may need to make adjustments on your end. ..my audio is fine.
Not able to make volume adjustment on my end. Can you speak louder please?
lost David's audio
audio ok on my system. loud and clear
audio is back now
Comment: we've been making really great stewardship calls to see how people are managing and to tell them how we're responding to crisis; we've selectively asked for contributions for our COVID-19 Better Together Fund which helps our frontline healthcare workers and students. Our own faculty and staff and board members have given generously to the fund so far as well as some alums and grateful patient families
Tell your donors what you are doing and some of the challenges you are experiences ,I have found that I have had some donors ask how they can help…and I have given them some suggestions..
will the slides be shared with us? great info!
I wondered that, too, Kaylee
Viken & David it is what I call the Maslow Conversation when you have donors that can sense your need with out being asked for a gift..they know!!
any tips for striking up new relationships now? I'm new to my organization so I need to introduce myself to our donors and build relationships with them
re: events - we've been putting together some online seminars for our alums...
Most folks will let you keep the sponsorship..they want to help!!
Events should have a "Cancellation Clause" making sponsorships a tax deductable donation in the event that there is a cancellation out of the control of the organization.
Viken - Our organization is currently holding on a "leave us in a will postcard" - how long do we wait until sending out - 6-9 months?
I hate to ask this question during all that is occurring - very helpful, thank you.
We had already launched our SECURE Act - IRC postcards . . .
Agree you have to keep forging forward!!!
Would also love to hear if people are able to talk with potential new donors; we are always trying to reach out to alums we haven't spoken with before and I'm wondering how people are approaching that now
Thank you David!
Many of our staff members are struggling with being home with young children and caring for elders. if they can get in a 6 hour work day I think that is a huge win. What am I asking of my team - do the best you can
This has been fantastic! I need to drop off but everyone stay strong, stay safe!
